Things To Do

Old City: Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Elfreth's Alley

Liberty BellOur hotel is located in Old City, the birthplace of America! It is not a far away walk from Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed. If you are a history buff, we recommend reserving a tour far in advance. You can also take a look at the Liberty Bell, stroll along Elfreth's Alley or browse the National Constitution Center.

Spruce Street Harbor Park

Spruce Street Harbor ParkThe hotels are also not too far from Spruce Street Harbor Park which is an urban park featuring a boardwalk along the Delaware River. Swing on some hammocks, rollerskate on the riverside rink, or sip on some beer while enjoying live music! We also recommend grabbing ice cream at Franklin Fountain, a classic ice cream parlor in an old-timey space.

City Hall

City HallThe hallmark of Center City - A 37-foot William Penn, Philadelphia's founder, sits atop the largest municipal building in the United States. You can take a tour inside or stroll around outside near Dilworth Park. Keep on going along Ben Franklin Parkway and you'll get a straight shot to the Art Museum.

Reading Terminal Market

Reading Terminal MarketPhilly's famous indoor farmer's market, one of the largest and oldest in America. A great place for a group to go, where you can enjoy a plethora of different cuisines, from Asian and Middle Eastern dishes to authentic Philly cheesesteaks and traditional Pennsylvania Dutch fare.

Schuylkill ("Skoo-kull") River Trail

Schuylkill ("Skoo-kull") River TrailOur favorite place to walk and bike - it is a 26.5-mile protected trail that begins in Center City and winds its way through Valley Forge National Historical Park. We recommend passing by Water Works, area of waterfalls along the Schuylkill, and make your way to the famous Boathouse Row. It's a nice area to take in the scenery and history of Philly without the hustle and bustle of the city.

Philadelphia Museum of Art, Rocky Steps

Philadelphia Museum of Art, Rocky StepsIf you're around the Schuylkill area, we recommend checking out the Philadelphia Museum of Art, as well as the famous Rocky Steps and Statue.

Wissahickon Valley Park

Wissahickon Valley ParkThis was our retreat during the COVID pandemic. It's a little ways away from the city, so you can either drive or take the bus there. There are dozens of miles of trails in this lush, 1,800-acre gorge. You can relax along Forbidden Drive, the low-lying gravel road that follows the creek, or venture up the steep wooded paths for a more challenging hike. The historic Valley Green Inn, the last remaining example of the many roadhouses and taverns that once flourished here, serves drinks and snacks.

Mutter Museum

Mutter MuseumOne of our favorite museums as history of medicine fanatics. The museum stores medical objects and oddities of all kinds including slides of cells from Albert Einstein's brain, the death cast of Chang and Eng, the original “Siamese Twins” and a special collection of human skulls.
